Areas of impact

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT:
Empowering young people to reach their full potential.

YMCA Food Programs

The Y is an active community partner in helping feed kids in our programs and in our communities. YMCA Food Programs combine food with enrichment activities to provide essential support for the 1-in-5 Oklahoma children who are fighting food insecurity.

Out-of-School Time Programs

YMCA out-of-school time programs ensure kids are safe, happy, and engaged outside of the school day. Oklahoma Y’s out-of-school time programs are committed to ensuring the highest-quality out-of-school time programs; all programs have adopted a set of Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards and complete a comprehensive Child Abuse Prevention Program.

HEALTHY LIVING:
Improving individual and community well-being.

Sports & Recreation

We believe sports, friendly competition and exploring new interests are for everyone. And when team work is involved, there’s the added benefit of connecting with others. That’s why you’ll find a wide range of recreational activities at the Y, so there’s always something for everyone.

Water Safety and Swimming

Teaching children how to be safe around water is not a luxury; it is a necessity. YMCAs across Oklahoma partner with local school districts, other non-profit organizations, and housing communities to offer the Y’s Safety Around Water program, which teaches kids essential water safety skills to reduce the risk of drowning.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Providing support and inspiring action in our communities.

YMCA Foster Care Benefit Program

In partnership with Oklahoma Human Services, the Oklahoma Alliance of YMCAs offers the YMCA Benefit Program for Foster Families, which provides discounted rates on Y membership, joining fees, youth sports, and group swim lessons for all certified, active foster families in the state.

Supporting Young People

Across the country and around the world, the Y empowers young people to be confident and engaged global citizens who work to strengthen their communities and create positive social change.
